Halloween Snacks
Halloween Snacks
Halloween is such a fun time to celebrate. There are so many cute costumes and delicious and crazy halloween snacks. We like to celebrate at the office by of course bringing snacks. Also, don’t forget those kiddos and grandchildren, as they need some fun and exciting snacks too.
I started with snacks at home for my grandson:
Delicious and healthy Apple Monsters Halloween Snacks
Start with a green apple, then slice it into fourths. Cut off the core. Slice out a portion where the mouth is. Smear some peanut butter into the sliced out portion of the mouth. Add a slice of strawberry for the tongue. Position some sunflower seeds to the top of the mouth for teeth. Smash a miniature marshmallow and add for the eyes. I had to add a little peanut butter to act as the glue to hold the marshmallow on the apple. Poke a chocolate chip in the marshmallow for the pupils.
My grandson had so much fun eating these healthy snacks. Of course, he started with the tongue. LOL
Next, let’s do something to take to the office, shall we? Or maybe send to school with your little ones.
Ghost Cheese
A quick and easy snack is to get some string cheese in packets and add a ghost face with a black sharpie.
Frankenstein Grape Halloween Snacks
How about another fast and easy snack that happens to be healthy.
Put some green grapes in a plastic cup. Add a few marshmallows to the inside. Finish up by adding pupils and a mouth to the outside of the cup with a black sharpie. I added foil to the top to transport them.
Bags of Fun (and gross) Halloween Snacks
As you can see by the names, these snacks are fun and delicious but sound kind of gross, right?
- Use candy corn for Jack O Lantern Teeth
- Cinnamon Toast Crunch for Monster Scabs
- Miniature Marshmallows for Ghost Poop
- Chocolate Chips for Witches Warts
Take some snack baggies and fill up. Cut out some colored paper or construction paper the same size as the baggie. Fold over the top of the bag and staple once in the middle. Add your text. The kids loved these!
Sick Pumpkin Halloween Snacks
Get a small to medium size pumpkin and hallow out. Cut a mouth in the pumpkin and draw the eyes with a black sharpie. Make some queso dip to serve in the top of the pumpkin. Put in plastic or glass bowl to fit. Cut up velveeta cheese and add rotel and melt in the microwave. To serve the guacamole, put down some green saran wrap out of the mouth so it doesn’t come in contact with the pumpkin. My secret family guacamole recipe is:
- smash with a fork – avacados
- spoon of Miracle Whip
- spoon of Hot sauce
- salt
- pepper
- garlic
- lemon pepper to taste.
- Optional – chopped up jalapeños, onions, and tomatoes
Serve with tortilla chips. Yummy if you can get past the puke look.
Worms in the Dirt
These are gummy worms – sour and colorful – served on dirt cake.
To make the dirt cake
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 2 – 3.5 oz packages instant vanilla pudding mix
- 3 1/2 cups milk
- 1 – 12 oz container frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 32 oz Oreo Cookies
Chop cookies very fine in food processor. The white cream filling will disappear. Mix butter, cream cheese, and sugar in a bowl. In a large bowl mix milk, pudding and whipped topping together. Combine the pudding mixture and the cream mixture together. Layer in pan or a small terra cotta pot, starting with cookies then cream mixture. Repeat layers ending with cookies. Chill until ready to serve. Yummy!!!
Hats and Broomsticks
The hats and broomsticks are served on a bed of candy corn and candied pumpkins.
The broomsticks consist of a stick pretzel stuck into a miniature reese cup.
The hats are an upside down Keebler Fudge Strips cookie, then orange icing, with a Hershey’s kiss stuck in the top.
Tasty!
Cheeseball skull
This is a cheeseball molded to look like a skull served with crackers. Add olives for the eyes and sunflower seeds for the teeth.
To make the cheeseball:
- 2 – 8 oz. packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 – 1 oz. package ranch dressing mix
- 2 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
In a medium size bowl, mash cream cheese. Mix dressing mix and Cheddar cheese into the cream cheese. Shape the mixture into a face using saran wrap. Roll in the chopped pecans. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Add the olives and sunflower seeds before serving.
We also had deviled eggs with plastic spiders on them.
Make your gatherings fun AND tasty!
Enjoy!
