How to Make a Doll Blanket

Learn how to make a doll blanket with me. My great niece is turning 3. She loves playing with her dolls (babies). She takes very good care of them.

Therefore, for her birthday, I made 5 different doll blankets to enhance her play. She started playing with them immediately.

Cut

Cut out two 18″ squares.

Pin

Pin the two squares right sides together.

Sew – How to make a doll blanket

Sew 1/2″ seams, leaving a 5″ opening in the middle of the bottom.

Next

Trim the corners and turn right side out.

Poke the corners out. I used My Purple Thang. It works great.

Press

Press all the edges out, pressing under 1/2″ at the opening.

The Conclusion of how to make a doll blanket

Play on your sewing machine and find some cool decorative stitches.

You can add them all the way around or just add them at the top and bottom. Your choice.

Just be sure that you add the stitch over the opening to close it up.
