One of my grandsons requested a Sonic the Hedgehog Quilt for Christmas. I couldn’t find a pattern for one, so I designed one. I sure hope he likes it!! Follow along to Sonic the Hedgehog Quilt Tutorial.

Follow the cutting directions and cut strips listed of each color.
Next, cut the 2 1/2 inch strips into 2 1/2 inch squares of each color. Cut the number of squares listed and make stacks of 10 to keep up with how many you have cut.
Subsequently, it’s time to start putting the squares together. According to the pattern, grab the two colors and stitch 1/4″ seams. Additionally, it is easiest to chain stitch them a column at a time. Mark the pattern so you can make sure to keep all the colored squares in order.
Put the columns in order.
Hence, open up column 1 & 2. Next, place columns 3 & 4 with right sides together and sew another 1/4″ seam.
Repeat with subsequent columns. Or do it in rows if you would rather.
Once you have all the rows together, you need to press the seams to one side. It was lots easier to stack the rows and iron them one at a time. PRESS the first row to the left, the next row to the right. That way you can nest the seams when putting the rows together. I turned over a row and pressed. Then put in stack at the bottom. Turn over another row and press in the opposite direction.
Lastly, with right sides together, and seams nested, sew the rows together with 1/4″ seams. Sew all the rows together.
Don’t forget to add a label. Include who, what, when, and where. Ta da, all finished.
