Top Knot Bow Headband Tutorial
Today I have a top knot bow headband tutorial for you. These make the cutest little headbands for babies up to adults.
You will need a stretchy knit material. Cut with the stretch on the length.
Use scissors or a rotary cutting mat/cutter and ruler
Sizes for cutting:
Age / Average Head Circumference / Cut one this size
Newborn – 3 months———— 12″———— 4″ x 19 1/2″
3 – 6 months———— 13″———— 4″ x 20 1/2″
6 – 12 months———— 14″———— 4″ x 21 1/2″
1 – 3 year old———— 15″———— 17″ 4 1/2″ x 23 1/2″
3 – 6 year old———— 17″ ———— 18″ 4 1/2″ x 25″
7 – 12 year old———— 19″———— 6″ x 27 1/2″
Teen———— 20″———— 6″ x 28 1/2″
Adult———— 22″———— 6″ x 30 1/2″
Fold right sides together lengthwise.
Construction:
Serge the edges leaving a 2″ opening in the center.
Re-fold putting the seam down the center. Press. Serge the ends. Optionally, you could round the ends if desired.
Turn right side out through opening. Poke ends out. Hand stitch the opening closed.
Tie the top knot and you are done! Voila.
